According to the Insurance Research Council, nearly 1/3 of all claimants injured in motor vehicle accidents (M.V.A.'s) seek treatment from doctors of chiropractic. This is an impressive number given that the National Safety Council (N.S.C.) has determined there to be more than 12 million M.V.A.'s annually involving more than 20 million vehicles.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture is a treatment based on Chinese medicine, a system of healing that dates back thousands of years. At the core of Chinese medicine is the notion that a type of life force, or energy, known as Qi ( pronounced "chee" ) flows through energy pathways ( channels ) in the body, much like water flows through an irrigation system. That energy is what drives blood and fluids to every cell of the body. When there is a breakdown in that system, your body lets you know by feeling physical or emotional discomfort. The acupuncturists job is to clear stagnation along these channels to maximize the comfort and well-being of the patient. This is done by inserting small needles into predetermined points along these channels. Acupuncture is generally painless, but some patients compare the sensation of the insertion of the needle to a mosquito bite.
