It's Your Life... Live it in Health!
Dr. Brad Pluckhan | Dr. Brad Pluckhan began his career in spinal rehabilitation during the late 80’s at a large rehabilitation clinic in San Jose, CA. “From early on, I loved the challenge of bringing a patient who really thought they were going to have a life filled with back pain, to a reality that they could get better,” Dr. Pluckhan. “I found that most patients were missing a true understanding of why they have the problems they do and what they needed to do in order to change their condition for the long term.”
He graduated Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic-West in San Jose in 1996 and opened his first practice in Los Gatos. “Initially I worked with a lot of athletes, but found that these patients were already on their way to better health and realized that a greater challenge were those individuals who have traveled further down the road of poor spinal health.”
In 2000, Dr. Pluckhan opened his second Crossroads clinic in San Jose where he began to shape his protocols to address the significant structural problems he was seeing. “The deeper we dove into spinal challenges the more patterns we began to see and I found that many of the treatments that we had been performing were not accomplishing as much as we wanted, so we needed to made some additions.”
In 2003, Crossroads added spinal decompression therapy to its' arsenal of tools in order to combat acute and chronic neck and back pain. "Adding decompression to our practice philosophy was a no-brainer. We were now able to help an entirely new group of people who in the past were faced with surgery or just pain managment," Dr. Pluckhan. With over 20,000 decompression treatments rendered, Dr. Pluckhan has become one of the foremost experts on the west coast in the field of spinal decompression and rehabilitation.
Dr. Pluckhan was also thrilled to add his wife, Piper, who received her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy in 1998, to his team. “Bringing Piper onto our team gave us a huge boost to our rehabilitation department. With her experience of working with elite professional and university athletes, we are confident in all aspects of the rehabilitation of our patients.”
In 2007, Dr. Pluckhan and Piper opened their third clinic in Gilroy, CA. "We decided that we both wanted to practice closer to home and finally practice in the community we live in," Piper.
